It’s official! According to the Hollywood Reporter Billy Dee Williams will be reprising his role as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 9.
Rumors started circulating last week when Williams backed out of a convention citing filming conflicts. And let’s be honest, while we love Billy Dee he’s not doing Ladies Man 2: Courvoisier Confidential any time soon. His life is Star Wars now so any filming can be directly brought back to a galaxy far, far away.
So theorists. What say you? What’s Lando’s role in this new and final installment in the Skywalker saga? Is he going to fill the shoes of General Leia Organa? Is he going to be a prop in the background? Or something else entirely?
Whatever it is. He’s long overdue for this new series. We need our Lando fill and we need it now!
