It’s an exciting time to be a Stephen King fan. First we get the epic reboot of IT last year. There are myriad adaptations coming to the small screen of his short and long stories, and now today, Deadline reports that Ewan McGregor is in talks to play a grown up Danny Torrance in The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep directed by Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s Game, Oculus, Absentia).
Doctor Sleep, takes place approximately thirty years after the events of The Shining, where we find a grown up Danny battling the demon’s that haunted his father as well as the infamous Overlook hotel. He suffers through this pain and anger while serving as an orderly of sorts, helping patients prepare for passage on to the other side through his unique perspective and powers.
The film was put on the fast track after the box office success of IT. It’s currently slated for release in 2020.

I cannot believe I am “liking” a pop culture FB page… but the name is too intriguing not to give it a try. Plus you had me at Ewan MacGregor.
