Entertainment Weekly shared an exclusive photo from the upcoming Halloween (2018) sequel, and while the image is simply our original 1978 heroine Jamie Lee Curtis in 2018, it gives me a sense of calm. After all, this is the second “reboot” of an amazing 70’s and 80’s franchise. Rob Zombie brought the franchise back in 2007 with a re-envisioning of the film that spawned a 2009 sequel. Both movies weren’t that bad, however, I’m not sure the franchise was in need of a kick start. It really stands on it’s own. In fact, I don’t think any of our 1970s and 80s horror flicks should be touched at all – poor Leatherface has had to go through the rinse and repeate a half dozen times it feels like.
I digress.
Seeing Jamie Lee reprise her role as Laurie Strode is a welcome thread that ties the original to this 40 year delayed sequel.

Halloween returns to theatres October 19th, and between these little sneak preview photos, the trailer, John Carpenter as the Executive Producer, and the mad writing talents of Danny McBride and David Gordon Green – I am super stoked to see the one.
Oh, you haven’t seen the trailer yet? Here you go – enjoy!
