Ugh. It happened. We knew it would happen. We didn’t want it to happen but it did. Collider reported earlier that Disney has pulled the plug on any new Star Wars anthology stories for the foreseeable future. This is due primarily to the lackluster box office success of the much anticipated Solo: A Star Wars Story. When compared to it’s sister spin-off Rouge One, Solo opened to $84.4M and by week for grossed $192.8M while Rogue One opened to $155M and by week for had grossed $424M according to Collider.

What does this mean though? Well, it means no Boba Fett movie, no Obi-Wan movie, no Jar Jar origin stories in the next couple of years. Instead Disney will focus on Episode IX and the next trilogy. May the force be with all of us while Disney reevaluates the Star Wars universe.
