Three new releases hit the screens this week: “Joker Folie à Deux,” “Megalopolis,” and “The Wild Robot,” with a new series, “Salem’s Lot,” premiering on Max. But did they live up to the hype?

“Joker Folie à Deux” in Theaters

This sequel, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, left Nitro feeling a bit disappointed. The musical aspect was a bit jarring, and the storyline didn’t progress the Joker’s character as expected.

“Megalopolis” in Theaters

Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project, “Megalopolis,” starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, and Nathalie Emmanuel, was a complete miss for AP. Despite the star-studded cast, the film was convoluted, confusing, and poorly directed. You’ll be shocked at how many disco balls he gives it.

“The Wild Robot” in Theaters

This animated film from Dreamworks, based on the book series by Peter Brown, was a hit with Nitro’s kids. With a talented voice cast, including Lupita Nyong’o and Pedro Pascal, the film delivers a positive message about nature and friendship.

“Salem’s Lot” on MAX

AP was excited to see this new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic vampire novel, but unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The acting and writing were subpar, and the film had a made-for-TV feel. He gives it 2 out of 5 disco balls.

Two out of four isn’t bad, but hopefully, next week’s shows will be even better. Thanks so much for listening and may your queues be inspired!
